Boosting Employment for 2nd time in 6mths

The new £15.5m project will mean an increase in job opportunities for people in the Yorkshire area, this being the second time in 6 months that Britspace has increased their employment levels, which in today's economic climate is almost unheard of.
The 138 bed ward extension will increase The Royal Sunderland Hospital's patient capacity from 970 to 1108, providing much needed additional care facilities for the busy hospital.
The state of the art integrated critical care unit will segregate theatre staff and nursing staff to eliminate the chances of infection spreading between the two departments. This is a new scheme being implemented by the NHS Foundation Trust across the UK, with Sunderland being one of the first in the country to recognise and utilise the new initiative. The complex design of the new hospital wards and facilities will see Britspace expand their experienced and highly skilled design and technical teams to deliver the bespoke building to the NHS Trust.
Manufacture of the units commences in September '09 with the installation of the first modules due in December 2009. A fast track delivery programme will see the project completed by May 2010, a programme that would not be possible with traditional construction methods.
